Sessional Youth Support Worker (Young Men’s Coastal Social Action Group)
Job Title: Sessional Youth Support Worker – Young Men’s Coastal Social Action Group
Location: Fylde Coast
Hours: 4 hours per week (evenings/weekends as agreed)
Rate: £13 per hour (subject to experience)
Contract: Sessional (12 months initially)
About the Role:
We’re looking for a supportive, reliable, and engaging Sessional Youth Support Worker to work alongside a group of young men involved in a coastal social action project. This is not a leadership position, it’s about showing up, being present, and helping to create safe, inclusive spaces where young men can explore identity, community, and what it means to make change.
You’ll be part of a wider youth-led programme focused on voice, creativity, and place-based social action. The role will involve assisting in the planning and delivery of weekly group sessions, supporting participation, and helping to build trust and consistency within the group.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with the project lead to support the delivery of weekly sessions
Build positive relationships with young men aged 14–25
Help facilitate a safe, welcoming, and respectful space
Provide encouragement and support without leading or directing
Support group activities, discussions, and creative projects
Assist with set-up, pack-down, and basic administration as needed
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
Has experience working with young people, particularly young men
Understands the value of youth-led, informal education and social action
Can listen, encourage, and support without taking over
Is dependable, reflective, and open-minded
Has a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
Desirable (but not essential):
Lived experience of the local area or similar communities
Experience supporting creative, place-based, or youth voice projects
To Apply:
Please send a short cover email and CV to admin@uyacic.org by 31st July. If you’d prefer to apply in another format or have questions about the role, we’d love to hear from you.
