This is the first Coast of Social Action in the UK.

This is where young people lead.

We believe every young person has the right to be heard,

the power to act, and the ability to shape the future of their community.

Here on the Fylde Coast, we are:

Turning ideas into action.
Turning voices into influence.
Turning challenges into solutions.

From Blackpool to Fleetwood, from Lytham to beyond,

this coastline is more than a place – it is a movement.

A movement led by young people.

A movement rooted in community.

A movement that proves Social Action can change lives,

change systems, and change our world.

This is the Coast of Social Action.

And it starts here.

We are proud to be creating the first Coast of Social Action in the UK.

The Fylde Coast has a unique identity — rich in community spirit, creativity, and resilience. At UYA, we believe this coastline can also lead the way in showing what Social Action really looks like when young people are placed at the centre of change.

The Coast of Social Action is about building a movement:

Connecting youth groups, schools, services, and communities across the coast.
Championing young people’s ideas and projects, giving them the platforms to thrive.
Creating a recognised culture of action, where youth-led change becomes part of the DNA of our towns and neighbourhoods.

From Blackpool to Fleetwood, Lytham to beyond, this coast is becoming known not just for its challenges, but for how its young people are shaping solutions.

By anchoring our work here, we are proving that social action can ripple outwards – inspiring other regions and setting a national standard for how young people’s voices and actions drive transformation.

This is Social Action in practice – and it is at the core of UYA’s mission.

How can I get involved?

The Coast of Social Action is a movement – and movements grow when people join in. Whether you are a young person, a community member, or part of the wider workforce, there’s a role for you to play.

For young people

Join a project – get involved in youth-led campaigns, events, or peer research.
Start something new – bring us your ideas and we’ll help you turn them into action.
Develop your skills – take part in training, workshops, and opportunities to grow as a leader.

For schools, services, and professionals

Partner with us – work alongside UYA to embed social action in your classrooms, youth settings, or organisations.
Host opportunities – create space for young people to lead projects or influence your decision-making.
Support change – champion youth voice in your sector and amplify their impact.
Sign the #iWill Power of Youth charter.

For the wider community

Show up – attend events, exhibitions, and community showcases of youth-led work.
Celebrate young people – share their stories and achievements in your networks.
Back the movement – support UYA’s work through funding, sponsorship, or volunteering.
